Lord Drayson, Minister of State for Science and Innovation, visited Queen Mary today to see the Centre for the Cell, and also had a briefing on impactQM from the director and Queen Mary's new principal, Professor Simon Gaskell. He was pretty positive, especially about the idea of placements in high-tech SMEs giving people a flavour of how cool innovation can be, and about the broad range of interactions that universities and business can have.
