Over 70 people turned out for the impactQ summer party. They heard Professors John Allen, Byron Cook and John Stark talk about what research impact meant to them.
We concluded that interaction with people and problems who can stimulate new ideas and thinking is good, but any idea that research can be produced "to order" or that all research must be with an industry partner is likely to hamper creativity. There were some particularly lively quotes.
